Because of his work at Ground Zero in New York City and other critical incident events, Dr. Michael K. Haynes, Founder and President of The Faith Based Counselor Training Institute and Crisis Chaplaincy Care has been asked to come to China and train health care workers, first responders, mental health and clergy volunteers on the Spiritual Care Component of Crisis Intervention.

Dr. Robert Yeung, a graduate of FBCTI, has set up trainings with church leaders in Hong Kong and crisis intervention seminars with Chinese Government Officials in Cheung Du.

Traumatology, Victimology, Critical Incident Stress Debriefings, Dealing with Grief and Loss, the Grief Process, Child Trauma and other extremely vital concepts are in great need due to the powerful 7.8 earthquake.

The death toll is expected to surpass 80,000 and there are over 1 million people homeless and living in tents and makeshift villages.

Dr. Haynes asks for the prayers and financial support of American Churches.  Join many churches, associations, businesses and individuals by going to the Donation button on the opening page of this site or directly below and help us help them!

Partners are coming on board to support Dr. Haynes as he travels to and from China.  It takes 24 hours to get there and 24 hours to return.  He will begin conducting crisis intervention trainings and critical incident stress debriefings.  He is currently back in the states building teams and working with the New International Director Robert Yang to assemble those that will bring the best of spiritual care to China’s crisis intervention programs over the next few years.

“Our schools need your help,” says Michael.  “All of the FBCTI and Crisis Chaplaincy Care power point presentations have been translated into Chinese!  This is a huge opportunity to provide spiritual care to hundreds of thousands in great need.”
